Ready to approach your due date with confidence? 

We will cover the expected and unexpected, the many shades of normal, and the choices you'll be presented with during your labor. In this 7-hour class, we'll cover the essentials you and your partner/support person need to know to feel confident in your transition to parenthood.

*Recommended to complete class by 36 weeks of pregnancy.

This interactive in-person class blends evidence-based information and mindfulness techniques to help you feel informed, calm, and confident as your due date approaches. Classes are capped at 6 sets of participants to ensure you get all your questions answered and we foster a close community. This class is affirming for LGBTQIA+ and non-traditional families. All expectant families are welcome. 💜

  • The signs and stages of labor

  • Evidence-based information to help you make informed decisions

  • Comfort measures and breathwork to keep you calm and comfortable throughout

  • Unmedicated and medicated pain relief options

  • How to effectively communicate with your medical team. This includes advocating for your needs, sharing your birth plans, discussing medical pain relief, navigating inductions, and cesarean options)

  • How to navigate hospital policies and procedures 

  • When to head to the hospital

  • Immediate postpartum care and transitioning home with your newest family member

Meet Your Instructor

Clara O'Rourke (she/her), a researcher-turned doula and childbirth educator, brings a mix of science and mindful practices to birth work. She has supported thousands of families to prepare for beautiful birth experiences through her programs, resources, and services. 

 

Her passion? Supporting people - like you- learn how to harness their inner power during life's most magnificent transitions. 

 

Come as you are. As a neurodivergent and queer birth worker, Clara is passionate about creating inclusive spaces for people to access information and techniques for a calm and supported birth experience.

Your payment reserves a spot in the class and is non-refundable. Tickets are transferable up to 2 weeks prior to the first class date and with approval from Clear Light Birth
